About Us
The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre was born in the fall of 1984 by community members with a shared mission of strengthening children, families and community by investing in our future. Grey Buffalo Grandfather Wellness Lodge builds on our original mission by providing space for our community to gather, access ceremony, and connect with the land while also acting as a social enterprise to grow our land-based and cultural programming.

Located near Hillside Beach, Manitoba, the Grey Buffalo Grandfather Wellness Lodge offers a large communal meeting space, lodging for up to 36 guests, and access to 77 acres of land. Revenue from every booking goes to support cultural and land-based activities for Winnipeg’s urban Indigenous community.
